OVERVIEW OF COMPUTER BASED RECORDING AND SIGNAL FLOW
Friday June 20th at 3pm-5pm1st HOUR:
- Overview of recording interfaces I/O and MIDI and what they’re compatible with
- Applications of software and hardware working together and how they interact.
- Understanding MIDI and virtual instruments and how they are different from audio
- Understanding signal flow, and how software uses bit conversion to record.
2nd HOUR:
- Overview of software based recording and differences between programs
- Understanding the difference between Pro Tools LE, HD, and M-Powered software
- Using Pro Tools and understanding the toolbar, different view windows (MIX and EDIT)
- Overview of Plugins and application differences between AudioSuite and Plugins.
- Setting up and optimizing your Pro Tools and Garageband software for best processing perfomance.
- Using MIDI and virtual instruments in Pro Tools and understanding ReWire.
- Questions and Answers for those who participate.
